Myanmar Plaza is a modern shopping mall in the upscale Bahan area, popular with local families and expats for its mix of retail, dining, and entertainment near Golden Valley.
History
Myanmar Plaza opened in December 2012 as one of Yangon's first large modern malls in the embassy district, developed by Singapore's Parkway Holdings. It arrived during a surge of new retail investment along Kabar Aye Pagoda Road as the Golden Valley and Bahan neighbourhoods grew wealthier. The mall helped shift upscale shopping away from downtown to the leafy western suburbs near Inya Lake.
