Meliá Yangon is a contemporary 5-star hotel overlooking Inya Lake, with avant-garde design and panoramic views of Shwedagon Pagoda.
History
Meliá Yangon opened in 2016 on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road, on a site overlooking Inya Lake — a reservoir created in the 1880s that became Yangon's most prestigious residential address. Spain's Meliá Hotels International entered Myanmar as foreign investment surged, building a large contemporary tower in the embassy district. The hotel's design and scale reflect Yangon's ambition to compete with regional capitals for business and leisure travellers.
